Who We Are
Maine-Ly Kites is a family owned business in the foot-hills of Western Maine. Our family lives in the area and we share much of our free time together. Whether we're fly-fishing for wild brook trout on small ponds in Northern Maine or we're enjoying the back yard, we have kites handy for ourselves and friends to fly. We hope others can share the joy we get from the experience of flying kites.
Our Goal
At Maine-Ly Kites our goal is to provide quality products for quality experiences. We have selected products from the industry leaders. We have chosen to feature New Tech Kite products on our Web site. We can order other products from other Kite producers such as Prism, HQ, Premier, Flying Wings, and Gomberg. There are minimum order requirements, so please contact us if you would like to purchase merchandise not found in our products sections. We will work to provide you with the item of your choice.
Inventory and Shipping
Maine-Ly Kites is a family owned business providing kites and other wind products primarily through the Internet. We do attend shows and events to promote our business and provide kites. We maintain an inventory, however, as with any business, we may have items that are not currently in stock. Orders are placed with our suppliers weekly and delivery is generally within 10 days provided the item is available. We plan to ship orders within two days from merchandise availability. Depending on your location delivery may take up to five business days. When ordering, please allow adequate time to meet your needs.
We ship to locations in the 48 contiguous states only . Shipping is through UPS and USPS. The costs are applied to your shopping cart total at checkout. You can view the total at any time by clicking the view cart link at the top right of each page and proceeding to check out.
Payment
Payment must be made in US currency only. You can use credit cards or your PayPal account at check out.
Sales Tax
Sales tax is applied ONLY to orders being shipped to the state of Maine. A 5% tax is required on merchandise only, by the state of Maine and will be added to your final total at check out. We do not collect fees and taxes for other jurisdictions.
Returns
All products purchased from Maine-Ly Kites may be exchanged or returned for a refund when returned in a new and unused condition within 30 days of the shipping date. Refunds will be issued via the same method as the original payment. All shipping charges are non refundable. All products for which you are requesting a return must be in their original condition, including all accessories, the original packaging, manuals, and have a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#). Once the flying line has been unwound, attached to the kite, or the kite has been flown it is no longer considered new and unused. Return merchandise must be in brand new condition so that we can sell it as new again. Maine-Ly Kites reserves the right to refuse any exchanges or refunds that are returned to us used, not in their original condition or without an RMA#. Defective items will be determined by Maine-Ly Kites, or the manufacturer of the item. Defective items may only be exchanged for the exact same product. We cannot accept a return after 30 days from the shipping date. To request an RMA#, please email us at with your order number. You will be contacted by a customer service representative and given an RMA# with the shipping address for returns. You may then pack up your merchandise and ship it back to us. All returns must be shipped to us prepaid. We recommend that you properly insure your package and ship it via a traceable method and hold onto these items until the return process is complete.
Damaged Packages
UPS, and the US Postal Service require the recipient of the package to file damage claims. If your order was damaged in transit please contact UPS at 1-800-742-5877 or the US Postal Service at 1-800-275-8777. They will start a claim and will notify Maine-Ly Kites so that we can send out a replacement to you. Keep the box and all packing materials until the carrier is contacted in case the carrier wants to check them.
